After we had finished the high school, Bruno and I wanted to travel across America.
We saved money for the airplane tickets and for some fares,
but we didn´t have not much money for hotels, transportations and food.
We had 28 days off and it was our first trip abroad.
Bruno was his first time travel without his parents.
He just turned 18year-old and I completed 19yo one month ago.
Both had that idea years ago, when we were kids and we passed all
our school days planning and wondering how would be nice it will be and
America always was our dreaming teen.
So, after checked everything, packed some clothes and stuffs,
put it into our backpacks we said goodbye mom and dad and drove to
Guarulhos International Airport of São Paulo.
The airport was so far from our home. We lived in a small town
about five hours from São Paulo.
It was Bruno`s first time in São Paulo. He was so excited and looked around everything
with curiosity and asked me all time questions that I really couldn’t understand.
I was thinking that he was really nervous and little bit desperate about the flight.
Our flight landed off about 9:30 pm.
It was a cold and humid night.
São Paulo sky was dark and raining a little bit. We left in June.
First, we flew to San Francisco, in the northwest.
The flight was very nice! We had made two transfers connections.
First was in Dallas –Texas and second in San Diego – California.
We didn´t have time to leave from airports and the arrangements were too fast.
That`s America competence!
They use to work and organize too tide in all areas from their huge airports.
After 13 hours includes transfer connections we landed on in São Francisco.
As I told, we just had few money for cheap accommodations and we didn`t have to
walk around for long time for find an economic hotel.
São Francisco is a medium size city, but it is very important and there are many places to see.
The architecture, social and cultural side is very interesting!
After 3 days horsing around and visiting some hot spots we had decided to look for a job.
We started looking for job there, and we`ve got jobs at a seafood company. We worked there for a couple of days.
Bruno and I worked too hard; about 12 hours a day. It was a TUNA BUTCHERY FISH FACTORY.
After these longest and hardest days working we saved about 700 hundred bucks.
It was sufficient! We bought an old car and drove 400 miles down south to Los Angeles,
where we got jobs in Chinese restaurant. I was the checker and Bruno was a terrible waiter.
All the time he used to committed many mistakes.
He couldn´t understand clients` orders.
We were fired! His English is so poor!
After that, we got a ride crossing Nevada desert, Grand Canyon, Las Vegas
and arrived to Toledo - Arizona where we relaxed for 5 days.
I was very excited to attend those professionals Bull Rodeos.
We went for some those. It was amazing!
There were many entertainment shows everywhere and the cowboys and bull parades were wonderful.
I have to say something; they are awesome!!!
Next, we flew to New Orleans for a Marde Grass festival.
Every year the entire city used to celebrate the summer time with a huge fest on the streets and there are crowed people singing, dancing and having fun everywhere. It was Bruno´s first hangover. We laugh a lot after some beers!
There were three fantastic and crazy days there in New Orleans! I will miss there!
We did check out from a buddy guy house, that we had made there, we went to Atlanta and drove around.
Atlanta is situated on the middle-east area from United States.
We visited the mountains for a couple of days, but it started to get boring.
So, Bruno decided to fly back to San Francisco, and I went off by us.
I got a ride with a woman who drove up me to north to Chicago.
I stayed there for a week.
Chicago is very cool! There, you can live the true American spirit.
Nice people. Majority are black.
I enjoyed staying some days there visiting buildings, jazz pubs and parks.
There are green and cleaned parks everywhere.
If I could recommend you: - Go to Chicago. The home of Bulls.
This is the home place of Chicago Bulls team and now the President Obama hometown too.
I´ve got no much money again as usual. I had a part time job in a Golf camp club as a Boy Caddie.
Good bye Chicago and I travelled far west to Kansas City, where I got a job in a resort for five days.
Kansas is very famous about their ski mountain parks and resorts.
I don´t know if you know, but skiing is one of the most popular sport and entertainment for Americans during winter days.
Summer time is opposite. There use to happens lots of tornados.
Finally, I returned to San Francisco where I met up with Bruno again.
I was very happy to meet Bruno again.
He told me that he found a girl and she left him to know her parents at a Grapevine farm nearby Grappa Valley.
He was so happy and too talkative.
I could bet that was his first date with a girl. Certainly was! I knew him deeply!
I was completely overdrawn. No money and to be sure I was really tired about America and travelling all time. A different table and different bed, each day and night!
I had called home and ask to my Dad sent us money for tickets and few money for our travel back.
Thanks Dad! He credits a good doughty!
We took a flight back passing by New York and had a great time at big apple! Attend a rock concert at Yankee Stadium and horsed around to central Park and some hot spot places in New York City.
Time to go! We landed off on the twenty-fifth day left.
College began two days later!
